Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat has extended it's stay at the Adelphi Theatre.

The production, first scheduled to close in June, will now run until 18th October 2008, with Lee Mead continuing in the title role.

Before the hit TV show Any Dream Will Do, Joseph seemed confined to cold church halls and school children running amuck with tea-towels on their heads.

However, after Andrew Lloyd Webber's nationwide talent search, accompanied by the appropriately camp Graham Norton, Lee Mead donned the famous Technicolor coat and Joseph was re-born for a new generation.

The TV show spawned an army of fans, assuring the West End production's success at the box office. The show is estimated to have taken UKP10 million so far.

The show is a colourful retelling of the biblical story about Joseph and his uncanny abilities, favouritism, family rivalry, temptation and that designer coat. With a score of wall-to-wall hits, including Close Every Door and Any Dream Will Do it continues to please families and critics.

Tickets for the extended period will be on sale from 19th November.
